TEC Equipment Purchase is a Huge Boost to Aviation Management and Flight!
A key advantage provided by the Transportation Education Center funding as it relates to the Department of Aviation Management and Flight is an additional $2.25 million in equipment funding, for aviation training equipment to be installed in the TEC. This will include $1.6 million in new flight simulation equipment for the Aviation Flight Program and $650,000 in air traffic control simulation equipment for the Aviation Management program. The flight simulation equipment will include a regional jet flight training device or FTD plus a second Cessna 172 FTD, both of which will include wrap around visual simulation capability. In addition, a crosswind training device and two advanced aviation training devices with motion capability will be purchased for the Aviation Flight program. The air traffic control equipment will include both tower and radar simulation capabilities and will be installed in support of a new Minor in Air Traffic Control to be added to the Aviation Management Program. Students in both Aviation Flight and Aviation Management will benefit greatly in terms of career preparation from the new equipment.
